The Grounds

OUTDOOR PORTRAITS · LINCOLN PARK · TERRACE

Established in 1906, Lincoln Park provides a timeless backdrop for wedding celebrations, and The View showcases some of its most picturesque features. A serene pond and fountain, the silhouette of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial across the water, manicured landscaping, and classic stonework create a setting that feels beautiful without trying too hard. Many couples use the park for portraits, cocktail hour, and quiet moments throughout the evening. With direct access to the Fountain Ballroom, every part of the celebration flows naturally from one experience to the next.

Winter Weddings

As snow falls across Lincoln Park and the season settles in, The View takes on an especially warm and inviting atmosphere. Cozy fireplaces glow, seasonal décor adds a festive touch, and the park views provide a beautiful backdrop for the day. From January through March, couples receive a collection of complimentary seasonal enhancements, including a warm welcome with mulled wine and cider, a comfort-food-inspired cocktail hour station, a hot chocolate bar with sweet treats, and thoughtful touches like a holiday-decorated antique sled and sparkling sendoff. It’s a cozy, elegant way to embrace the season and its natural beauty.

Gather After Hours

Not ready for the night end? Continue celebrating in the Lincoln Room or on the Sunset Rooftop. Whether you’re rounding out the evening with late-night cocktails, a few last dances, or a more relaxed after-party with your closest guests, both spaces offer a change of atmosphere without ever leaving the property.

Getting Ready at The View

The View’s designated getting-ready suite is private, naturally lit, and stocked before your beauty team and wedding party arrive. Upscale furnishings, full-length mirrors, champagne, and a comfortable lounge area make the space feel like an extension of the celebration itself, not just a place to get dressed.

About The View

A Legacy Reimagined

The site of The View has been the social heart of Lincoln Park since Casino in the Park opened in 1950, hosting events attended by Frank Sinatra, former President Bill Clinton, and generations of Hudson County families. The original structure closed in 2017, but the history of the space was too meaningful to disappear with it. Under by Landmark’s stewardship, the venue was rebuilt as a one-of-a-kind timber structure, incorporating the original stone façade, antique fixtures, and timber beams from Lincoln Lodge, which opened on this site in 1929. The name pays direct tribute to what the property has always offered: a view of the pond, the Abraham Lincoln Memorial across the water (dedicated in 1930), and the landscape of a park that has been part of Jersey City for over a century. Our founders, Jeanne and Frank Cretella, built The View to honor what was here while making it entirely new. That is the same mandate that has guided every restoration in the by Landmark portfolio.
