Gilded Age Love Affair in Elkins Park, PA

Elkins Estate. Some places are venues. This is a world of its own.

Forty-two acres in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, just beyond Philadelphia, and unlike anything near it. Elkins Estate is home to a collection of one-of-a-kind mansions, each standing independently on one of the most architecturally significant private estates on the East Coast, being brought to life one extraordinary chapter at a time.

Three distinct mansions. Three independent event experiences. Capable of hosting multiple private celebrations simultaneously, each with its own team, guest rooms, and atmosphere. The scale is historic, the restoration is meticulous, and the hospitality is by Landmark, with 25 years of knowing what it takes to make an occasion unforgettable.

Elstowe Manor anchors the estate today with the grand architectural presence of a fully restored Gilded Age landmark, while Chelten House – an English Tudor mansion arriving in late 2026 – will allow the estate to host two entirely separate, exclusive events at once. The Carriage House follows, adding a third independent venue to a collection that will stand as the finest of its kind in the region.

Why Elkins Estate?

Chef-Driven Culinary Experience

Our respected and award-winning chefs source locally, including from our own farms, to deliver a high-quality, farm-to-table experience. This ensures you and your guests enjoy fine dining that is truly memorable.

Built in 1898 by William L. Elkins, Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate was designed by esteemed French interior designers Allard et Fils. The frescoed ceilings, carved panels, marble columns, and sparkling chandeliers speak to the European grandeur that still defines the manor today.

Throughout Elstowe Manor, guests will find gold leafing, gilded molding, and architectural details that reflect the estate’s original craftsmanship. Set on a rolling 42-acre property just outside Philadelphia, this historic manor invites visitors into a space that blends character, beauty, and thoughtful design.

Across the estate, Chelten House, an English-Tudor home surrounded by gardens, fountain courtyards, and quiet water views, offers a second wedding setting designed specifically for smaller guest counts and intimate celebrations. Debuting in Fall 2027, it expands the Elkins Estate experience with overnight stays that allow couples and their guests to linger in the magic long after the last toast.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Elkins Estate?

Elkins Estate is a stunning 42-acre historic estate in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. Originally built in 1898, the property features a collection of architecturally significant mansions being restored and reimagined by Landmark. Today, the estate hosts private wedding celebrations with the grandeur of a fully restored Gilded Age landmark.

Elkins Estate currently offers Elstowe Manor as its primary wedding venue, with a Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 300 guests and onsite overnight rooms for a full wedding weekend experience. Chelten House, an intimate English Tudor mansion for up to 130 guests, is set to debut in Fall 2026. The Carriage House is also planned as a future third independent venue on the property coming soon.

Elstowe Manor is the crown jewel of Elkins Estate, a fully restored Italian High Renaissance mansion that anchors the property with grandeur, history, and a sense of occasion unlike anything in the Philadelphia region. Built in 1898 and designed by the renowned French firm Allard et Fils, the manor features soaring frescoed ceilings, hand-painted murals, marble columns, ornate chandeliers, and carved panels that speak to a distinctly European sensibility.

At its heart is the Grand Ballroom, a beautifully proportioned event space with classic clean lines, slate floors, and a neutral palette that lets your vision take center stage. With 69 onsite guest rooms thoughtfully restored to blend modern comfort with original character, Elstowe Manor is designed for a full wedding weekend: arrive, settle in, celebrate, and wake up the next morning still wrapped in the estate.

Chelten House is the second mansion at Elkins Estate, an English Tudor residence tucked beside sweeping lawns, a quiet pond, and a romantic fountain. Where Elstowe Manor makes a grand statement, Chelten House feels more intimate: vows exchanged in softer light, evenings that linger, and overnight rooms that mean your closest guests don’t have to say goodbye when the music ends.

Designed for up to 130 guests, Chelten House is ideal for couples who want the full estate experience, private grounds, onsite accommodations, and by Landmark hospitality, in a setting that feels personal rather than palatial. Chelten House is debuting Fall 2026, and is now accepting inquiries for its first celebrations.

The Ultimate Weekend Experience at Elkins Estate is designed to turn your celebration into a multi-day experience, rather than just a single event.

Instead of arriving, celebrating, and leaving all in one day, couples have the opportunity to extend the experience across one of the estate’s historic mansions.

That typically includes time for a welcome gathering or rehearsal dinner, a full wedding day celebration, and a farewell brunch the following morning.

What makes it feel so special is the setting itself—guests are immersed in a private, historic mansion where each part of the weekend unfolds in a different space, all within the same estate grounds. It allows everyone to settle in, connect more naturally, and enjoy the celebration without feeling rushed from one moment to the next.

Elstowe Manor accommodates up to 300 guests for ceremonies and receptions. The upcoming Chelten House will host up to 130 guests. Once the full estate is complete, the property will be capable of hosting multiple private celebrations simultaneously, each with its own team, guest rooms, and ambiance.
